10/04/08 - Congratulations to CCOMTB rider Tom Patton selected to represent Australia for a 2nd year running after finishing 5th for the series in his world cup campaign of 2007, then after getting back to Australia he had a huge crash while doing some dirt jumps that nearly cost him everything, amongst the injuries, breaking his back. After much time in hospital and rehab which forced him to miss the 2007/08 National series that he needed to attend for valuable points for team placement, he attended the 2008 Oceania champs in New Zealand earlier this year where he finished in the top 10 earning him points for selection and after much waiting and a very long year for TP he has been selected again and we at the CCOMTB club wish him and the rest of the his junior team mates the best of luck. Come back with the rainbows!
08/04/08 - The race at Awaba was pretty good. everyone seemed to have fun only one real let down was the access road. It wasn't real friendly on any of the vehicle's but this is meant to be fixed before the next race up there, with the next interclub race coming down to Ourimbah on the 27th of April. Because of time we only had one race run so everone had to give it there all. Only one hospital visit that I heard of and a few scrapes and bruises. Brad Kelly won once again with the big suprise being young U/17 and CCOMTB rider Reece Kuhn getting the 3rd fastest time of the day. It was a pity we didn't get some of the other elite riders racing Brock Newling (AMB cover boy) was there but flatted in his practise and never really got to the bottom, Tom patton pulled out before starting, Adam Smithson was doing the timing at the bottom and Robbie Mcnaughton went for a surf after coming off. The track is certainly one of the most tecnical I have ridden which is good because it keeps you on your toes at all times. My race run was mostly good except I managed to mess up the rock garden so bad that I had to get off and push on through. See you at the next one cheers Wayno.
18/03/08 - next clubby (30-03-08) will be held at Awaba with the HMBA club. We will expect big numbers so it will most likely be one run so make it good. At the moment private shuttles. We will be using the hunters grading system of A, B, C and D grade. All CCOMTB club members will have to let me know what catagory they normally race so I can allocate their points
